I got water or condensation in my cell phone screen?

I just bought my phone a week ago and I didn't have it around water or near the shower, etc but i noticed a small spot in the screen..that i can only notice if i hold phone at an angle..but it's there and if i press any other area of the screen the spot spreads towards where i am pressing it.
I went to alltel and the lady said it's liquid damage and its not covered...so i have to pay
I have no clue how it got there and i think it could be sweat (I live in el paso tx---think super hot)
is there any way I can get rid of this spot without further damaging the screen or phone?

If it is still working okay, then it sounds like it's only on the inner side of the screen.

It wasn't a cell phone, but a hand held one we have fell in the tub. What I did was to place it under a small (short) bed side type lamp over night. The heat from the light bulb slowly dried the moisture up but did not get so hot to damage the phone. It is working fine and it has been almost a year.
