Promoting Bands with Screen Printed T-Shirts

Bands have been using screen printed t-shirts to promote themselves for many years. Some of the t-shirts sold by the most successful bands at their concerts are collector's items. For getting your band's name out there, there are few better ways to go about it. T-shirts are easy to sell and, provided you have a design that will appeal to your audience, fans will be more than happy to wear them.

You'll need to consider the color of the screen printed t-shirts you sell before you buy. Black is the most common color and it has real advantages. Black t-shirts are very popular in general. They're appropriate for going out at night and they're also appropriate for every day wear. If you're a rock or other edgy type of band, black would be the logical choice for your fans. For bands that have a more lighthearted image, offering a selection of black and white t-shirts can be very effective at getting them to sell or, if you're just giving them away, to increase interest.

Promotional items such as screen printed t-shirts are oftentimes given away as a way to advertise. If you're trying to get your album reviewed, or mentioned, in the media, sending extras along with it is a good way to get the reviewer's attention. One way that you can really stand out from the crowd is to make sure you have an excellent graphic on your t-shirts. A lot of bands will go with a simple white on black design and this can be very eye-catching and effective. If you want to add a splash of color here and there, it only helps the logo get noticed. There are plenty of options for the back of the t-shirt, as well.

Screen printed t-shirts for bands oftentimes have tour dates on the back or other information. A tour shirt is traditionally only sold at the concerts during the tour, but this is a pretty loose tradition these days. If you have roadies who help your band out, be sure to give them promotional t-shirts, as well. The more the audience sees your logo the better. It also makes your operation look more professional and successful and, of course, there's not better advertising strategy for bands than the bandwagon strategy! Promotional shirts can be purchased for low enough prices that giving them away is feasible.
