Instead, each GSM handset, Siemens cell phones for example, contain a removable Subscriber Information Module card, or SIM card, that holds the ID number. This means that you can insert any SIM card into Any Gsm phone, and vice-versa, and everything works just like you'd expect it to. Thus, when switching carriers, you only insert the new SIM card from your new carrier into your existing phone, and that's all, with no account set-up or registration on your part!
