The Curve 3G Will Be a Familiar Handset For Dedicated Blackberry Users
Blackberry fans will be happy to hear that a new 3G device has been released. The phone is called the Blackberry Curve 3G (9300) and RIM have ensured us that the price tag will be very reasonable. The device is equipped wit one of the best QWERTY keyboards on the market. For the entertainment conscious, a digital camera, multimedia hub and pre-installed games have been thrown in; messaging is obviously covered with various portals for communication and the online capabilities are improved from previous Curve handsets thanks to the addition of 3G.
The Curve 3G will be a familiar handset for dedicated Blackberry users; it looks almost identical to the old Curve 8320, only a chrome trim sets them apart. The same 320 x 240 Lcd Screen headlines the user friendly keyboard and the responsive optical track pad has been continued as the main navigation tool. The soft features of the casing contrast to the colourful display and sharp keyboard. The Curve design still looks good and remains within the Blackberry style guidelines set by RIM. The smooth lines and small size make the Phone Very comfortable to handle and super-pocketable.
RIM have gone with the Blackberry OS 5 which is a little of the mark when compared to Android and especially iOS, but RIM have promised an upgrade to OS 6 in the near future. This will please experienced Blackberry users as the interface can be a bit lacklustre at times, though overall you cant complain as the interface has little else wrong with it, you still get the same widget based menu layout which supplies icons for you to select to open sub menus with the content you want. Themes and wallpapers can be changed, and the online capabilities of the phone enable more to be downloaded.
As with most of today's smartphones, the Blackberry Curve 3G as integrated support for social networking and e-mail. Facebook and Twitter users can rejoice as both clients work wonderfully well thanks to the turbo boost from the 3G technology. Setting up e-mail accounts is very simple and with all of the popular providers like Gmail and Hotmail being compatible you will find yourself spending more time on your phone than your PC. Blackberry's famed Messenger application is accompanied by additional IM support along with the standard SMS and MMS options. The web browsing experience is vastly improved from the 8520 model; 3G is the main cause of these improvements. Curve 3G users can rely on getting a speedy connection and the Wi Fi technology is in place for turbo connectivity when nearby wireless hotspots are active.
A basic 2MP camera will cover your daily snapping and video recording, though quality is not superb it is better than most phone cameras in its class. The video player is calibrated to play multiple file types and the Music Player intuitively organizes your tunes for easy accessibility. The sound quality is pretty good and the 3.5mm audio jack will let you use your own headphones. Bluetooth lets your phone wirelessly communicate with compatible devices and PC synch is possible thanks to the microUSB port. GPS has been pre-installed to prevent its users from getting lost and the phones memory can be expanded via the microSD card slot.
