Blackberry 8800 – Carry Office in Style

Making a debut in great style, the equally stylish Blackberry 8800 brings the stunning look and versatility of the Pearl to a Full Qwerty device. Further, it not only offers expandable memory and multimedia functionalities, but also offers GPS and PTT. In terms of design, the Blackberry 8800 is a little wide, making it difficult for single-handed operation. But that does not pose any problem with the typing, and messaging still remains an impressive feature. The handset comes with a beautiful 2.5-inch (diagonal), 65,000-color display with a 320x240 resolution. Thus, the texts, graphics and images are clear and vivid.

Also, the screen features light-sensing technology that automatically adjusts the backlighting of the screen, as well as the keyboard and trackball, depending upon your location (if you're indoors or outdoors). In terms of feature, the Blackberry 8800 is sure much more than just a messaging device. To start with, the Blackberry 8800 is now a multimedia handset. The built- in media player can be used to listen to music (MP3, WMA, AAC, AAC+, eAAC+, AMR-NB, and MIDI formats) and watch video (MPEG4, WMV, and H.263 files). Plus, the Music Player comes with many options to customise and edit the tracks.

Road warriors will revel with the GPS feature. It’s simple and hassle free to use. All one needs is to get help of a location-based service, such as TeleNav GPS Navigator, and one can get maps, text and voice-guided driving directions right on the BlackBerry 8800. Plus, one also gets to know about the points of interest and other navigation tools. Another good inclusion in Blackberry 8800 is the advantage of PTT. Other voice features of this device include speakerphone, voice-activated dialing, smart dialing, conference calling, speed dial, and world roaming.

Email (something that made Blackberry a stupendous success) remains as easy as before. The handset offers the famed push technology and can sync with your company's BlackBerry Enterprise server with support for Microsoft Exchange, IBM Lotus Domino, or Novell GroupWise to deliver corporate e-mail in the most hassle free manner. The Blackberry 8800 can support up to 10 accounts including POP3 and IMAP4 e-mail accounts. There is also an email wizard.

And finally, the BlackBerry 8800 includes a number of PIM tools for the business users, including a calendar, a tasks list, a memo pad, an alarm, and a calculator.
