The HTC Desire HD has taken handheld technology to a new level
The HTC Desire HD is at the forefront of Mobile Cell phone technology. The phone has the biggest screen, the fastest processor and the one of the best mobile operating systems so far. The Desire HD boasts the ne Android 2.2 Froyo OS which has been decorated with HTC's beautiful HTC Sense User Interface. The camera can shoot in HD and with all the Google based goodies covering everything from messaging to satellite navigation the phone is rich in application focused features.
The Desire HD will definitely take first prize if looks are anything to go by; the Super Slim waist line and a very slick casing, this is the Mobile Phone equivalent to Kelly Brook. The screen measures at 4.3 inches from corner-to-corner and utilise the multi-touch input method (capacitive), the 480 x 800 pixel arrangement floods the on-screen imagery with over 16M, rich colours meaning that web pages, videos and games look clearer and crisper than ever.
Much of the phones interface has been lifted directly from the old Desire; familiar features will include the seven-screen interface system where dedicated applications can be run. FriendStream integrates all of your social networks and messaging accounts into one application which can be given its own home screen. The 1GHz processor handles the media heavy apps with ease; so you can browse the internet, listen to music and communicate with your social networks simultaneously.
The HTC Desire HD is loaded with connectivity options ranging from 3G and Wi Fi, to GPS and Bluetooth. You also get a microUSB connection for PC synchronizing. The web browser is one of the best I have seen, smooth flowing controls dictate the pace at which you browse, there are no signs of web lag which is a great indicator to how much effort HTC have put into this device.
The messaging facilities cover everything from SMS to e-mail and IM, and thanks to the Desire HD's accelerometer, you can flip to landscape mode where access to an on-screen keyboard is enabled.
The 8MP camera is another key selling point for this phone; it is capable of shooting videos in lavish HD 720p quality and it is equipped with AF and LED flash among tons of editing and settings tools.
HTC have loaded the phone with all the basics for multimedia; you get a video player which will handle pretty much anything you throw at it and a Music Player which performs equally well. The sound system on the phone is unrivalled for me and a 3.5mm audio connection lets user make the most of there headphones.
Among the phones Google perks comes full, uncensored access to one of the leading online app stores; the Android Market is overflowing with media rich content for users to download. There are thousands of apps, themes and wallpapers for users to carve out there own Desire HD experience.
Thanks to HTC we now have a worthy alternative to Apple's iPhone series, the addition of HTC's Desire series which covers the new HTC Desire Z also, could give Apple the incentive to add "GS" on the end of the iPhone 4.
