Samsung SGH T749 Highlight

Samsung recently started making touchscreen smartphone and they are quite good and certainly very popular. One of the latest phones made by Samsung is Samsung Highlight. This phone runs one of the custom Samsung operating system which kind of looks like the iPhone operating system a bit.

The design of the phone is Very Good, it is small and easily fits and hand but does not slip too easily while handling the phone. But I am not a fan of the materials that have Been Used in creating this phone and the poor choice of colours that have been used in the outer shell of this phone.  The front end look good because the screen takes up most of the front end and hides the colour. But the back end is a different story; it is covered with some designed plastic material with designs which look ugly. They have given the back end green colour and white colour to the camera and speaker area and the portion that is left is black. The overall look gives a bad impression. So even if you are buying this phone, I will advise you to get a good cover to hide that ugly back side of the phone.

In the front end there are three keys, one to take the call, one to end the call and one in the middle acts as a menu button. The full screen size is hidden and made small with the logo.  I found the operating system in Samsung Highlight to be simple to use but it is by no means a smartphone because I have not found a way to install apps and games in it and I am not sure even if it is capable of multitasking. But it can perform simple tasks very well. The navigation is smooth and easy. It has all the essential apps pre-installed like the dictionary, active sync, world clock, rss reader, tasks, timer, stopwatch etc. It comes preloaded with a dozen or so themes, wallpapers and ringtones.

I like the camera of this phone; it is a 3 Megapixel Camera which can also be used for video recording. There is an option to add additional memory of up to 16 GB through micro SD card which will allow you to put in more photos, videos, movies, documents etc. Bluetooth is on board this phone and you can even browse the web. GPS is present on this device also and Telenav Navigator does come pre-installed right out of the box. This is a cool phone. Get it today.
