Sony Ericsson is best known for its walkman series handset but the absence of 3.5mm audio jack and mediocre video playback let the company down since most of the handsets in its range come with better features. The Sony Ericsson W995 is the latest launch from its house that is ready for challenge the other counterparts.
The Sony Ericsson W995 is still comes in its famous slider case design measuring 97x49x15 mm weighing just 113 grams. The front panel is loaded with a 2.6" screen supporting QVGA resolution and is quite bright and colorful. Below the display screen you will find a D-pad with a central key that can also be used as a play/pause button; call keys, soft keys, activity key and a clear key. Sliding the phone will reveal a keypad which you will find the well spaced numeric keys which is quite texting friendly also. On the left side you will find a dedicated music key which is large enough to be accessed easily. Along with it lies the fast port connector. Sony Ericsson Battery and Sony Ericsson Cables are also greatly in need.
The device is loaded with the latest walkman 4.0 Music Player with quite some new features added to it. The new version of music player supports the change of skin and also the new player supports quite vast collections of file formats. Apart to this it has lot of equalizer presets integrated into it. The sound quality of the speaker is quite loud and clear which is due to the dual stereo speaker system on the top and bottom. Also the new Sony Ericsson W995 has a 3.5mm headphone jack which gives there user freedom to choose from a variety of high quality head sets.
The Sony Ericsson W995 Is also equipped with a FM radio which supports RDS and TrackID which is quite typical in most of the mobile phones available today in the market.
The inbuilt video player of Sony Ericsson W995 supports fast-forward, rewind and slow-motion playback however the player doesn't supports DivX and Xvid formats. Apart to this the new Sony Ericsson W995 now comes loaded with the application software called MediaGo which automatically converts videos to play in the mobile device. However the video watching experience on the phone was not so cool that is due to the QVGA display.
For the internet users W955 has 3G HSDPA to support WLAN WI-FI and the features of EDGE are also there for high speed data transfer to the other devices. In some other entertainment features this Mobile Phone has SMS, MMS, and Email with instant messaging. Those who like radio can use its Stereo FM radio with RDS, and for game lovers it provides downloadable games and other java features like TrackID music recognition, YouTube, Voice memo, picture editor/blogging. In the last its standard battery can back up to 360 hours of 3G standby and 4 hours long 3G talk time. You can also play music here up to 20 hours non stop.
