Netbooks with Intel Atom dual-core system for sale

Online retailers have started selling netbooks with Intel is a new dual-core Atom processor, ahead of official product announcements from PC manufacturers.

Intel announced dual-core Atom N550 netbook chip on Monday. Chip maker said netbooks with the new system will be available immediately, but the largest manufacturers of PC products not yet announced.

Intel said that dual-core processor is faster than its single-core predecessors, which go to today, most netbooks. Netbooks will run applications faster and play 720p video, an improvement over the earlier models, which struggled with the high-definition video. Netbooks will remain thin and light as previous models and offer similar battery life.
