buying Sprint Phone on craigslist? help!?

ok so i am already in a 2 Year Contract with sprint and i hate the phone i want now so i saw on craigslist where i can get a Samsung Instinct cheap so then how does that work i see where a lot of them say ESN what is that and what will i have to do to get it to work. will i have to pay extra because right now i don't pay much for the services i have. i have a samsung m300 and sprint phones don't come with a Sim Card do i just put my battery into the instinct and then what would i do after that?

You're right Sprint technology is not SIM based. Your Samsung M300 battery will not FIT in the Instinct, so you'll have to use the battery that comes with the Instinct.

Yes, you WILL have to pay more money per month. The Samsung Instinct REQUIRES a data plan. So you must be on Simply Everything, Data 450, Data 1000 or some Everything Data Family share plans. That's it. No data plan, the phone won't work. The Data 450 is 69.99 a month. It has 450 minutes, and unlimited data capabilities.

If you continue to purchase this Instinct, you will have to call Sprint and tell them you need to swap service to your new phone. They will swap it for you, and change your rate plan, and provide you with programming information so you can use your new phone.
