As compare to SLR camera, digital SLR has a different functionality. camera filters are usually made up of glass, multi coated camera filters claims to filter unwanted reflections while taking a snap, however with the use of lens hood unwanted reflections can be prevented & it is always a good practice to use a lens hood.
