Cell Phone Use Tips: How to Increase the Battery Life

The battery life of a cell phone is one of the more important aspects that decide whether a cell phone is a hotseller or not. Here are some tips to keep the battery of cellphone at an optimum.

The battery life of a cell phone is like money, you never want it until you are out of it. Almost all of us have experienced those karmic moments in life where you promise to become a theist if by some miracle you gain the most minuscule of battery life to make that important call. Switch off the Vibrator Mode:

The vibrator mode of the cell phone is a Very Good feature at times when you cannot have a ringtone blaring out the fact that somebody is calling you, but the downside of this awesome feature is the battery life that it eats up. Therefore, whenever you can, switch off the vibrator mode.

Switch off the Backlights:

Unless you are a mineworker who spends eighty percent of his time in a deep and dark mine, you wouldn't want the backlight on in broad daylight. Take the time to move through your cell phone settings and put off the backlights. Your cell Phone Battery life will see a drastic increase with this simple activity.

Don't use GPRS:

GPRS is the biggest battery drainer in recent times. There have been cases where a simple ten minutes of checking mail over a GPRS enabled connection has caused the cell phone to lose around eighty percent of its battery. Of course, this has been solved in the case of most smartphones and PDAs, but if you are using one of those dumb phones, refrain from using the GPRS connection.

Switch off Bluetooth when not in use:

Having the cute blue icon at the top of your mobile screen is awesome, but it also means that its tooth is gnawing at your battery life. GPRS and Bluetooth are both major culprits when it comes to battery life. Make sure that you use these features only when needed and sparsely.

Switch off when not in a good network area:

Whenever you cell phone reaches an area where the network connection is not good, it tries extra hard to search for a nice network, which acts as a dampener for the battery life. Therefore, the best bet in these situations will be to switch off the cell phone and wait until you get reach a good network area.
