Winterface - Great Name for Great Product

A lot of people nowadays use mobile devices and smartphones. And a lot of these mobile devices work under the Windows Mobile operating system. But is it comfortable and convenient enough? Of course, it can perform all the necessary functions, but a wooden bed and a toilet outside the house also perform their function. They are quite alright if you are a Spartan, but what if you are a civilized person and want to bring more comfort to your life? You have to find something to cover your bed with and to arrange a toilet somewhere inside the house. It is approximately the same with the Windows Mobile interface. The Today screen and the Start menu are okay, but you always look for something better. And there is a solution, which is as great as its name is – it's Winterface from VITO Technology.

This next generation shell for Windows Mobile systems virtually completely replaces the standard interface taking it to a new level. You will no longer need the Today screen and the Start menu because Winterface is run with a simple gesture at any moment and provides almost any functionality you need. Its interface is as intuitive as it can only be – you just tap the icons and get what you want. As a shell, it allows you to create as many screens with applications, settings and contacts as you need and switch between them with s simple sliding gesture.

Icons on the first and main screen of Winterface replace most Today plug-ins. You can find here icons for such applications as phone, text messaging, e-mail, battery, calendar, memory usage. What's important, all of them show relevant information – the number of incoming messages, battery charge, the current date and so on. Actually, you just take a look at the main screen and you get information about all your communications and the state of the mobile device.

Winterface works perfectly as a launcher replacing the Start menu so you can run any installed application with one tap. Besides, you can easily switch between running applications using the task manager whose icon is also available on the main screen. You can open any settings with one tap as well. As to contacts, one tap on a contact gives you access to the entire information about the contact and you can write an e-mail message, dial the number or visit the webpage right from this form with contact information.

If you tap and hold on the main screen, you will enter the edit mode where you can create new screen with your favorite applications, or contacts, or whatever. Icons are easily arranged using the drag-and-drop technology. The special Menu icon allows you to add new application, settings and contacts and control the Winterface (you can even exit it, but what would you need it for?).

To sum it up, Winterface is a great replacement for the standard Windows Mobile interface that will allow you to perform any operation with a couple of taps. It really takes the notion of a touch interface in mobile devices working under Windows Mobile to a new level.
