How to buy a Good TV Screen Protector
At first glace most TV Screen Protectors tend to look the same, but they are not all created equally. Your primary concern is protecting your LCD or Plasma Screen from people or objects that may damage it. For example everyday, hundreds of TV's are damaged, by kids, animals, and the most famous of all loose Wii remote controllers.
The first thing to check when buying a TV Screen Protector is the thickness, anything thinner that 1/4 inch will be too thin and flex enough to damage the TV screen when an object strikes it. Even super strong lexan at 1/8 inch will bend and cause damage when just a little bit of pressure applied. That reminds me of another common way LCD and Plasma TV's are damaged: Kids pressing their finger into the screen, so be careful what you buy.
Next the TV Screen Protector needs to have straps, and good strong ones, not some flimsy Velcro, you don't want it falling down and hitting a pet or small child when they pull on it. These are usually big heavy items and they need to be secured.
Third, it should have some breathing room between the TV Screen Protector and the LCD or plasma screen. About a 1/4 inch is good to allow for air flow so that your TV stays cool.
And last you want to insure that you buy from a reputable dealer who has been in business for sometime, so that if you have to return it or a problem occurs, they are still in business. Good luck and I hope this guide is helpful.
