There's no question that owning an iPhone clone has become more accepted and makes more economic sense in today's highly competitive wireless market. The clones have a lot to offer, both in terms of initial cost, freedom from contracts and mandated carriers, and bonus features that the original just doesn't have - like Dual Sim slots, shake and tilt, extra speakers, and expandable memory.
But, I've found that sometimes people hesitate to pull the trigger on these phones because they worry about customer support and getting accessories and extras. They reason that because the phones are imports from over seas, that it may be difficult or expensive to get a hold of extras like user's manuals, batteries, skins, data cables, memory upgrades, etc. This is actually not at all the case. Like the clones themselves, the corresponding accessories are also very inexpensive and readily available today. As demand increases, supply will answer. The i9 is among the most popular iClones today, so, here is an overview of some of the popular accessories for the i9, with an overview of the approximate cost and availability.
User's Manuals, Internet Set Up, And Messaging Set Up Instructions For The i9: This is probably most consumer's biggest concern. They worry that they won't be able to connect the Internet or set up the MMS, WAP, or SMS or that they'll receive instructions in Chinese that are essentially useless. Actually, you can get instructions in almost any language that you can imagine. Set up is pretty easy on these phones, but there is software, e books, and PDFs that will walk you through, step by step, on how to set up all of the applications. Skins And Cases: Other than set up help, the second most common accessory requested are silicone skins that protect the phone. These come in a variety of colors from clear, to black, to pink, or rainbow. They are dirt cheap - usually under $5, and last longer than you might expect. I have these in several colors. There are also leather pouches and cases that work in a variety of ways - both feminine and masculine looking.
Memory: This is one of the few clones that can expand to hold up to 8GB, but if you buy the phone with less memory, you'll often pay less. Many people use this approach and upgrade the memory themselves, which can save a good bit of money.
Sim Cards: This phone is dual sim. Many people will have one sim for their talking and texting, and another for web browsing and data. A popular option for this has become the Pre Paid all inclusive sim cards. You can often get cards with unlimited talk, text, and data (web) for quite chealy.
Data Cables: You can transfer information with your phone to the computer via USB cable. Most times, this will come with the phone, but if you need an extra, they're only a few dollars.
Sylus For The i9: The sylus for this model fits snugly into the phone, but there are spares available for under $5 if you've lost yours.
Batteries / Chargers: These things usually come with the phone, but if you need spares, you can often pick them up for around $3.
