Problem While Connecting Samsung Corby To Pc
have a Samsung Corby Touch Phone but i am facing problems during
connecting
the
phone to PC
.Whenever i try to connect my phone to PC using USB data cord it displays the message of "This function not supported".What could be the problem behind this
as i am
not able to transfer any data to
my phone
?I am using Windows XP on my desktop PC.

I think the problem is with your
data cable
.Is this phone new or old? If it is old then there is possibility that you have got a defective data cable with it.Test the data cable with some different samsung phone and check if gives the same error and if
the phone
is new, take it to the nearest
samsung service center
and get the phone as well as the accessories (Data cable etc) checked.
I was getting the same error message whenever i tried to connect my samsung phone to pc.The problem in my case was with the USB port on my phone which got damaged due to falling.So i took it to the service center to get it changed.After changing the USB port there was no problem inconnecting the phone.

Try this and tell me if it works. Using the data cable connect the phone,it should display a "small computer icon" on the top right corner of your phone. If the icon does not show up then check if any applications are running onthe phone or not as Samsung phones only get detected if they are in the idle mode (so close any applications running on the Mobile Phone) and ifthe phone is in idle mode and still not getting connected then there is some issue either in the data cable or the phone.

You probably must not have installed the Samsung PC studio on your computer which is required by your phone. Install the Samsung PC studio whose setup is present in one of the CD's which comes along withthe phone. Your phone is trying to get synchronize with the computer but is unable to do so due to absence of the
software
.Once you install it,you will be able to sync all the contacts, messages,emails from your phone to your pc also you can transfer data using it.

The software is only helpful in synchronizing all the contacts and messages from the phone.It is not useful in transferring huge amount of data from phone to PC or PC to phone as it takes more time to check and convert the files.Instead put the phone in Mass storage mode to transfer data.This is how you do it.Go to Menu--Select Phone Settings--In this tab select PC connections and then Select Mass Storage mode. Now go back to the main menu ofthe phone and try connecting the phone to pc.It would be detected as a Mass storage device.
