Samsung Galaxy Tablet

Despite the fact that Apple have been parading their Ipad on the tablet computer circuit and hailing it as the beginning of the latest era, it appears that Samsung have been quietly making a serious IPad rival within the Samsung Galaxy Tablet. There have been whispered gossips of a new tablet pc with Google's Android operating system for a while now and tomorrow Samsung has stated it is going to unveil pricing their newest creation with Verizon and several other service providers on Thursday. However, the most exciting revelation is the fact that Samsung's new baby isn't only more compact, light and arguably prettier ?n comparison to the Apple Ipad, but actually has just several shiny and nice gadgets, applications and add-ons.

Pleasing To your Eye: Appearance and Video

The Samsung Galaxy Tablet features a clean and simple face, which has a smooth black surface area and four quietly unobtrusive buttons under the screen. As much of the tablet as possible has been reserved for the 7" 1024x600 Lcd Screen gives it a particular advantage when it comes to pixels over its main rival, even if the screen is smaller. For a portable PC tablet this hardly seems a loss though, since the Galaxy Tablet is 190mm by 120mm face on and only 12mm deep, making it a much easier size to carry around with you.

The battery life the Galaxy offers provide you with a heavy 7 hrs of powerful movie playing, which I think you'll agree is sufficient to keep you entertained around the bus. Having clearly realized that there will be just as many users who want the Samsung Galaxy tablet so as to watch YouTube at work or catch up with House MD as there are who will use it professionally, Samsung have concentrated on video performance. The Galaxy Tablet can play High-definition 1080p video, DivX, MPEG-4 and is also Flash compatible, to mention are just some of the video formats it can handle.

Resourceful: Memory and Compatibility

The Samsung Galaxy tablet's selling point is apparently the fast 1GHz processor chip hidden in its depths, which usually holds up under the heavy memory load of working on Wifi and juggling multiple web pages at the same time. Sometimes 16GB or 32GB inbuilt memory space can be purchased, but if that's a little too limited for you the Galaxy Tablet takes up to 32GB MicroSD external memory cards to boost it slightly and easily transfer between other gadgets and PCs.

Not that compatibility is a issue here, since the Galaxy have that covered. The all-in-one 30pin dock at the very base is the only main entry point, but can connect your tablet up to HDMI, USB and even your vehicle.

Those Valuable Accessories

Now those fancy extras you have all been anticipating and the Significant Question: does it have as much as the Ipad? The Samsung Galaxy tablet is capable of delivering texts and making calls and includes Bluetooth and 3rd generation Wi-Fi to make phones totally redundant. Among my favorite features are the cameras - one within the back with 3 megapixels and the indispensable flash for shooting drunken pictures in jampacked dark night clubs, and a slightly simpler 1.3MP camera on the front for video calls. The Readers Hub software program and landscape or portrait rotation sensors make the Galaxy Tablet into an e-book reader to save lots of you spending money on a Kindle, and ThinkFree Office makes it fully suitable for Microsoft Office to at least pretend that you are buying it to help you work.

Better Than the Alternative?

Maybe simply because I'm not Apple's biggest fan, I stumbled upon myself inevitably unexcited around the IPad. It appeared like another high-priced and selfishly incompatible product in Apple's range and personally I find it so shiny that I am scared of taking it out of the home if ever it becomes scratched by a wind or passing air-born leaf. The Samsung Galaxy tablet perhaps may not have released a price tag still, but the user friendly Android OS and light-weight 380 gram size of the Galaxy Tablet have already endeared it to me, and I am likely to be the first salivating consumer in line when it's released this October.
