Large Video Screens and Light Displays for Concerts & Shows, Informational Boards for City Festivals, Electronic Signs for Mass Measures

At last I succeeded to find photos that show large lamp screen application in concert, theatre representation & election campaigns. The electronic screen is used not only as a large display for direct broadcasting of a concert, but also as a number of new approaches to the use of modern technologies.

Electronic full Color Light screens have recently Been Used during large-scale feasts and shows, concerts with large scope of audience. This is one of most actively developed directions all over the world.

A vivid example of the electronic screens usage is Rolling Stones’ concert in Moscow, 1998. What a wonderful eye-shaped electronic screen have they used!!!

Spice Girls have also used a Very Good LED screen

Here are a few pictures demonstrating the compositional technologies of a lamp video screen, a LED sign and combined equipment. Electronic video systems were used not only as a large screen for direct broadcasting, but also as a number of new approaches to the usage of up-to-date technologies in concert, theatrical performances and election campaigns.

Here are the pictures of U2’s tour around American cities. They made use of 3 electronic video signs (12x16m and more than 600m2 each) They assembled the screens right at the place of their location, for example, at the stadiums, for the concert time, then disassembled and took them to the next city (62 concerts!).

U2 used 3 huge lamp signs in its tour through American cities. Each screen was more than 12x16m by size and more than 600 m2 in area. They were assembled in stadiums or simply in a field for the period of a concert, and then were disassembled and taken to the next city.

• Representations of pictures, pieces of art as parts of theatrical representation.

A successful concert was held in Moscow in August, 1997. It was displayed on the video sign installed on Poklonnaya hill. This show was organized by Philips in cooperation with our technical group. The electronic lamp screen was also used as a «participant» of the live concert and show.

The direct broadcasting of the concert (musical tracks) was combined with ads & view scenes. Of course this action conceded to U2 shows, but it has undoubtedly showed that the realization of the similar project in Russia is already possible.

The lamp signs that have the most effective price, quality and opportunities are a new kind of city outdoor advertising and are all-weather systems of outdoor video, but not only that. It is possible to create inexpensive (in comparison with other technologies) huge screens on its basis. It will exercise astonishing influence on the spectators and great concert, theatrical & propaganda opportunities. Such huge screens are capable of working effectively & creating images that remain firmly in everybody`s memory. They are especially good for big concerts, stadiums large-scale affairs with the great number of viewers.

If we correlate “price“ with “opportunity”, the newest lamp systems are incomparable now if big or even huge size (as the screens for U2 concerts) is needed, and they will remain so at least 5-7 years.

And they are absolutely worthy especially for Large concerts, actions & performances (even of regional or urban scale) or during election campaigns and especially sports matches and competitions.

We live in a very interesting period of time - the New Century& New Millennium are coming - we shall see what will happen, but many things depend on what is going on now.
