No claim this netbook is very comfortable. Battery life is great. Excellent for travel and maintenance and personal email. Great little machine

I got this netbook because I was tired of lugging my Dell Laptop around. I travel a lot and realize that when on the road I was mainly checking email, do the odd report, review numbers via my company's intranet, and just general internet stuff. For that purpose its great! 
I wouldn't want to do a huge report, crunch annual sales numbers, or create my fiscal year budget. THe screen is a little on the small side to really spend hours pouring over and creating data at that level. But then that's commonsense. 

Essentially its a really great blackberry. It boots up quickly, it allows you to load iTunes and play music = it hooks up to speakers. When I travel its easy to get out to show security at the airport. I played around with it before realizing that it was worth upgrading the RAM to 2gb, 1 gb will work but 2 is much better. Its pretty stripped down so most likely you will want to upgrade to Windows 7 Full edition. Again this is not necessary, but it does gain a little more power. It only has microsoft works so you will have to make the decision to upgrade or to use google documents. 

I like this machine, I got a great price on it. There really isn't much difference apart from Hard Drive size between any of the machines, they all have the same processor, they all have the same screen, the keyboards are all similar. As I said, its really easy to use because it's very light on using its resources. 

I would make the same recommendations about RAM, Getting Microsoft Office, and upgrading to Windows 7 home edition regardless of which machine you buy. However, in saying all of that, if you are on a low budget then this machine works really well and I would highly recommend it

It's great!

I have been very pleased with this Netbook. I shopped around a little and considering the cost and capability of the machine I am very happy with my purchase. It is lightweight, easy to use, and has a great battery life. I haven't had a time yet that I couldn't use it for everything I needed to in a day without having to plug it in and charge it, which may only be a few hours, but I don't turn it off in-between, I just close the netbook and it draws very little power. It's functionality is wonderful. The two finger scrolling is very handy as well. 

The only drawbacks that I have is that there are some software applications that really don't fit the screen (you can't use them in some of the ways you normally would, just because of the size of the screen), and because of the increased battery life the battery does stick out of the back of the computer a little, which is annoying at times. However, the size of the screen is what you should expect when purchasing a netbook, and the battery life is such a plus that I actually expected the battery to stick out the back. As far as carrying this one around college, I believe it is the perfect size.

My new favorite computer

I had a Radio Shack Modle 100 for several years and carried it with me everywhere. It was a great for basic word processing, check book balancing and scheduling. For my purposes laptops only went downhill after that. They were too klunky, heavy and expensive. 

I did a lot of research before purchasing the HP mini. One of the factors that influenced my decision is that HP has redeemed itself as a computer company. Compared to other netbooks I tried the HP felt solid and well built. I saw a couple of reviews that criticized the HP's large battery compartment. For me that has not been a problem, and I love the battery's long life. Even though my vision is on the poor side, the 10 Inch Screen is very readable. I just move the screen closer and don't even notice the size. 

Like the old Modle 100, I can carry the HP mini 210 everywhere I go. Having a laptop is fun again.

Excellent Netbook

I was a little reluctant to buy a netbook...thinking that the keyboard and screen would be small and 
difficult to see and operate. This is definitely not the case. I adjusted quickly to a slightly smaller 
keyboard and the display's resolution is vivid and bright. I am a real estate appraiser and use the netbook 
in the field to access real estate data and to connect to my office or home computer with "log me in free". 
Works Great on both counts. Battery life is as advertised and between this and my Smart Phone I have never felt 
so "connected".

Careful of RAM upgrade

I purchased 4 of these. Amazon recommends under "Bought Frequently Together" a case and some additional memory. 
I bought both. Case is nice. The memory suggested was Crucial 2GB 256Mx64PC2-5300 CT25664AC667 DDR2 200-Pin SODIMM Laptop Memory 
Unfortunately, even though the documentation seems to claim that PC5300 memory is supported, none of the machines would 
boot with this memory. I tried multiple sticks to confirm. What comes with the machine is PC6400 memory, so I ordered 4 sticks of the same Crucial memory, except the faster speed. Sure enough, the machines all booted fine. 

One other thing to note is these HP minis change the top row of keys. Rather than the usual press the Fn key to get at alternate functions like turning off wireless, changing volume, brightness, etc, for this model you press Fn to access F1-F12. Just something different, you eventually get used to it. 

The 1024x600 screen would be nice if it were larger, but they have the HD model to do that. But it's annoying to have Microsoft Works tell you that your screen resolution is lower than recommended. But the price on this model vs. the HD is so much better that I went with this model. 

Lastly, the case does seem to attract fingerprints, but they are nice enough to include a cleaning cloth. 

All in all a nice machine for what it is designed for. Small, light, usable for light tasks like e-mail, internet browsing, document editing.

Handy and easy to use internet access

The netbook lived up to all of the reviews I had read before making the decision to purchase this model. I have used it while traveling as well as from my home and am very happy with the speed of access while using the wifi connection to access the net. 

The windows 7 starter is easy to use and fills all of the needs I have for this netbook. 

The only downside is that it will not connect to the shared files and printer on my main PC that is still running windows XP on my home network. So I do have to copy files that I want to print or email them to my home email address. 

But overall it has been a good purchase and I am very happy that I made it.

Esta computadora resulta muy buena para viajes o trabajos fuera de la casa u oficina. Vino con Norton Antivirus, y eso la vuelve un poco lenta al momento de iniciarse; sin embargo yo desinstale ese programa y puse un antivirus menos pesado, con lo cual la maquina se volvió muy dinámica. Sirve muy bien para actividades básicas que incluyen el uso de Microsoft Office 07, Internet, Itunes, entre otras, el desempeño de dichos programas es muy bueno con la memoria que viene, las misma que, dicho sea de paso, es expandible en 1GB. Por su tamaño el equipo es muy manejable, se lo puede sacar y guardar muy fácilmente; sus componentes (teclado, pantalla y mouse), son cómodos de usar. El acceso a Internet inalámbrico (wireless), es muy bueno. No he llegado a agotar la baterà a en su totalidad, pero me ha durado más de 5 horas, trabajando archivos, usando Internet y Itunes al mismo tiempo. En definitiva, y, para las necesidades actuales, el equipo es bastante bueno.

I bought this for my daughter in law to use and the built in Web Cam is a great feature and lets me see and talk with my grandkids.!! It is very functional and mobile and she likes that. Would recommend this to anyone
