Mizco Unveils Platform-Specific Chargers For Smartphones

According to The Globe and Mail, the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of the UAE has outlined plans to limit access to the BlackBerry Enterprise Server system to large-scale organizations. Smaller businesses and organizations would need to rely on a less-secure system that is easier for authorities to monitor. Maurice Mizrahi, president of Digipower, said the products are the first of their kind to address the specific power requirements of each major smartphone platform.

The line includes a home and car kit ($29.99), a Home Charger ($24.99), a car charger ($19.99), and a combination Power & Sound kit that comes with a set of ear buds ($39.99). The chargers are offered in black with green for the Android platform, black with white for the BlackBerry platform, and black with silver for the iPhone platform. All four models are currently available.

Settling the dropped-call debate is a clear negative for AT&T. And it's a positive for Verizon, although concerns remain that if Verizon signs up too many iPhone users, its network could suffer from overloading and dropped calls, much like AT&T's.

Settling the debate could also boost iPhone sales, a positive for Apple. It could help mitigate some of the pressure from smartphones based on Google's Android, such as Motorola Mobility's (NYSE: MMI  ) Droid series or HTC's Thunderbolt, which was recently reported to be briskly selling at Verizon stores.
