3D Glasses – Making views perfect

There are cable connected 3D glasses and wireless ones for computer monitors.  A simple technique works with LCD Shutter glasses. The lens shut off independently one by one in turn. When the pictures display for the right eye lens, the left lens shuts off.  The same thing happens when the left lens receives the picture and the right eye lens shuts off. This mechanism happens as quickly as 60 times per second that help in displaying perfect 3D images on monitors.

In addition to 3D displays on computer Monitors, most people use them to watch TV 3D images as well. For this purposes, there are passive 3D glasses and active 3D glasses. The passive 3D glasses do not require power supply to view 3D pictures. They are two types and called polarized 3D glasses and anaglyph 3D glasses.

One advantage of using passive 3D glasses is people do not have to use energy to look through them which minimizes the cost. The anaglyph glasses comprise of cellophane lenses and a part is made of cardboard.  Most commonly the two lenses in them are red and cyan. Even though anaglyph 3D glasses are inexpensive, the 3D pictures received through them are not to the expected level.

The polarized 3D glasses are also in two types and they are called circular and linear 3D glasses. The circular polarized glasses need special projectors as well as a filter. It is not used to view 3D television. The linear polarized glasses are adjusted in vertical head position since tilting of viewers' heads right or left can differ the 3D effect. Such differing happens due to the two eyes seeing images horizontally and vertically.

On the other hand, the active 3D glasses need a power connection. In addition, a technique to sync glasses to receive the display is also needed. Most people use active 3D glasses to see 3D content and the lenses are usually LCD lenses. Most modern shutter glasses are equipped with small batteries and they receive signals through infrared beam just like the TV remote. The active 3D glasses are expensive. However, when a 3D TV is purchased the buyer will be given a pair of glasses free of charge. But if the purchaser needs more than one set, the additional sets are not free and have to be paid for.
