HP unveils latest notebook on the catwalk at NYC Fashion Week

It's Fashion Week here in NYC and that means tons of models and plenty of parties to crash. yesterday, HP and Vivienne Tam introduced the HP Vivienne Tam Special Edition notebook. It willlaunch in October.

"When I was approached by HP to create a special edition notebook, I could see the design in my head instantly. The notebook is a true reflection of the needs of a modern woman who cares about fashion but is also passionate about her technology. I wanted to create a notebook that would appeal to women of all ages, ethnicities and income levels across the globe."

HP won't disclose future pricing or even share the size or specifications of the PC, only saying that it is the size of a clutch-style purse. Could this be a sneak peek at future product lines? Yes, says David Roman, vice president, MarketingCommunications, Personal Systems Group. "It's aligned with and anticipates a product we're developing in a new category that hasn't been rolled out," Roman adds. He will, however, say that the Vivienne Tam edition has a "smaller form factor" than most notebook PCs that HP has on the market today.

HP said the "top of the notebook is gleaming red and bursting with peony flowers. The peony design is meticulously carried inside the notebook, under the keypad. The notebook also features a complementary embroidered storage sleeve that helps keep the exterior protected while being carried as a clutch."
